The Field- Free Verse

Here we are,

All on the field.

This is where dreams are made,

But also where dreams can be crushed.

I lay my heart out and hope not to strike out,

I run like the wind.

Hoping not to get tagged out.

I am running from 3rd to home,

I run straight for the catcher not caring if I get hurt.

I slide right under her not knowing if I got tagged,

All of us are waiting on the ump,

Am I safe or am I out.

After what seems like an eternity he finally says,

                                                                                      says,

                                                                                                       says,

“She’s safe with the slide at home!”

My Aunt Shirley can not have cats,

She sneezes and coughs,

One time I thought she might be dying.

She kept on making these really weird noises.

I guess getting her a cat for her birthday,

was not such a good idea?

I play softball I’m not ashamed the dirt in my hair

The pain in my eyes when we lose

The bruises I get from getting hit are my trophies

They show my pride and dedication to the sport I love

I wouldn't trade those bruises for anything.

Tick Tock- Small Moment poem

I have been sitting in the same chair for over 40 mins,

Ten more minutes of this torture

I just wanna stand up,

Stretch my legs.

Move around,

My cramped up body

Can't take sitting much longer

Tick Tock

Its only a few more minutes left

but It feels like the clock is frozen

It feels like I will never be able to get out of this class room

I am hungry I just want to go to lunch,

Its almost time to get out 3 more minutes

I count down in my head!

RING!! The bell finally has rung!
