Fishing

Concrete Poem

Fishing

Fishing

Fishing

It’s so boring

Nothing on the wire

No bending pole

Just a waiting

Worm

And the smell

Of the river

Wait

Is this

Really

I think

It’s a …                    a

A snag … and no fish

      Of course

                    :(

And to add it all up

The line broke

Maybe just one more try

See if my so called

Luck kicks in

And again here I am, Waiting,

Until my hand feels something

A slight jerk

I make my own little jerk

And then the line goes CRAZY

I reel and reel

Let it wrestle a little

And keep on fighting

The line starts to shorten and I see a fin

One more burst of strength and here it is

A twenty six pound Catfish

Oh I love fishing

Track

Free Verse Poem

The boy of blue, black, and silver

A line with the other colors

The cheering in the vast stands

The roaring and the shouting

The man of the small weapon

Holding it high in the air

The contestants are scattered in row

Bent low and thumbs to the solitary, white line

The boy of blue, black, and silver

Engulfed in the line of people

Head down

Knees shaking

Ears alert

Eyes shut

Mouth unmoving

Still on the block

Bang

The different shade of colors

Streaking across the track

Purple

Red

BBS

Orange

Green

All closing in

On the finish line

Yet only one will win

And the blue, black, and silver

Made the final claim

Apples,

Blueberries,

Cantaloupe too,

Don’t get me started on

Let me continue

The Slide

Free Verse Poem

My heart hammered against my chest

Like a washing machine in full throttle

As my eyes scanned the vast drop below

Who knew water slides could be this extreme

My arms crossed and my legs stiff

The instructor tried to get my attention

But I was too distracted from what was soon to come

Like a teacher trying snap a student out of their daydream

And as I plunged down the never ending slide

My eyes were flushed down the toilet

My hair danced across my head

And my nostrils flared in the force of the wicked waves

After the force of the great earthquake

My body finally halted to a sudden stop

I forced myself to stand with my twitching legs

And my tired hairs, panicking nostrils, and paralyzed eyes

When my worrywart brain stopped arguing

I decided to have another try

For if I am to make this moment memorable

I should give a it show

Superman

Cinquain Poem

Superman

strong, cunning

power, laser, freeze

amazing, spectacular, incredible, heroic

Man of Steel

Heros and Villans

Diamante Poem

Zucchini- loving

Dogs

Clerihew Poem

Dogs are covered in fur

They don’t exactly pur

They love to play

As long as you stay

They love the attention

Just don’t give them a detention

If you do you’ll regret it

You’ll probably need a medic

Just let the dog be your friend

And you’ll have a happy end

Twins

Limerick Poem

I have a problem that looks like me

Yet she’s still in my family

They call her Lyn

And she’s my twin

But I think she’s a catastrophe.

Blue Whales

Wingspark Poem

I dreamed

I was among the whales party

On the vast ocean floor

Where they were swimming like no other

With their swift and smooth maneuvers

The Lime

Clerihew Poem

Dr. Eric Lechneihime

sadly lost his favorite lime.

And as the time went to hour

his mood got more and more sour.

I like your Fishing poem because I don't like fishing, either, but the water always looks nice.

I like the heroes and villains one because superheroes are kind while villains at least most are cold-hearted.
