Don’t let them down

2 outs i am up to bat

waiting for the pitcher to pitch the ball

ball comes flying in over the catcher's head

umpire yells“BALL!”

pitcher gets ready to pitch the ball again

i swing

but miss the ball

this time the umpire yells “STRIKE!”

the pitcher gets ready to pitch the ball she lets go of it too late

i don’t take the swing

and the umpire yells “BALL!”

it is 1 strike and 2 balls

don’t let the team down i can do i repeat to myself

over and over in my head

pitcher gets ready

she pitches the ball

i can tell she is nervous

i see it coming down in the strike zone

i swing

i miss

umpire yells “STRIKE!”

now i am nervous

pitcher gets ready she pitches the ball is it coming

right where I need it to

i take the swing

i hit it

i see it going farther out than it ever has

i start running

i make it home and my team starts cheering!

they didn’t think i could do it, but i knew i could

everyone rushing to get a seat

I am one of the last ones on

I end up having to sit in the isle

the bus ride took forever it felt like

when coach told me what I was doing

I thought

great another 400

when it was time to run I got up to the starting line

getting ready for the hand off

I start running

for the first 200

I didn’t feel like I could run anymore

I could hear people cheering

the last 100 I tried as hard as I could

after I was done I went to go cheer on the last running

she was ahead of everyone else

people cheering for her

the hard work paid off

we got the win

I like the Don't let them down poem because it describes me a lot when i was i softball and that I like when you use the exclamation point to use to make the word pop.

I like the poem should of because I have a lot of those thoughts after games and how I could've helped my team more because I feel like I let them down.

Outstanding work! I like the poem "I Should Of" because it shows just exactly how much you blame yourself after something bad happened. Though it was short, it was deep.
