Free Verse: Video Game

You dash  for cover,

dirt splashing everywhere,

gunfire in the distance,

explosions,

racing cars,

falling buildings

But then,

everything slows, and turns black.

A flash of light,

you can see again,

A roar is heard all around you

not gunfire,

not explosion,

but the roar of a crowd,

You see a gate open, creaking with age

a knight walks out,

with a sword and shield

shining and glinting armor of the sun

he charges

you charge to,

Armed with only an axe, you charge toward your opponent,

Screams of metal echo, and wood creaking,

bones crunching,

and blood cries

the knight crumples, crimson on his armor

the crowd roars again, but everything slows once more

and fades to black.

Another flash,

you can see once more!

the death of space surrounds you and troops,

your turrets on guard,

mines collecting resources, preparing for the inevitable

Alien warriors charge toward you,

you command your troops to open fire.

gunfire roaring over the silence of space,

enemies and allies enter the void,

then, in a second

it’s all over.

just you,

a couple troops,

and your base.

You glance back and see only ruins,

and an alien starship looming over you..

the power button dims

all of the power in one button

to travel to fantasy and other players

for a battle of the ages

on a single screen

Wingspark

I dreamed

The Doctor

was on Gallifrey

and the other Time Lords were praising him

bowing down and shaking hands

Sonnet

Adrenaline pumping

Heart jumping

Running in fear

from the ravage mutineers,

the daemon of hell,

the man who say farewell

to life,

and may use a knife,

or another way to choose death,

and takes away the rest of your breath.

Dark,

a light spark,

a stealer of times,

it climbs,

seeks,

and reaps

your mind

but, you are blind

when it strikes

Yikes!

But then,

you emerge from your den,

to remember,

everything in now just an ember,

of truth,

and of your youth.

It was fake it would seem

just a dream!

or was it?

List Poem

Fear lurks…

Under the bed,

In the Closet,

In the old house

In the Basement,

In the Graveyard,

In the Abandoned Hospital,

In the Ghost Town,

In the Pizzeria,

In the Woods,

In High Charity,

No,

Only in your mind and heart

Sonnet:The police

He pushes you to the ground.

Get ready for another round

he grips you by the shirt

You are in fear of getting hurt,

He raises a fist,

He throws the punch, but he missed

He spun around,

To find out he was now bound,

By handcuffs

Sonnet: Hephaestus

The only god thrown off a cliff,

He had a bad biff,

Only because he was lame,

When he learned about this, he turned on his flame.

Once he climbed back to the top of stone,

He gave his mother a golden throne.

not a regular throne,

A throne that made her moan and groan.

The gods tried and tried,

They couldn’t break the chains,

Hera still couldn’t get out of her bide.

Only the creator could release the god,

When Dionysius talk with him, they were friends,

Then they drank and drank, until his hate had thawed

And went to his mother to make amends

He was given a wife named Aphrodite

She thought he wasn’t all mighty,

So she and Ares had an affair,

So he caught them in a golden snare,

This is the rough story of the blacksmith

Freeverse: Outfielder

I was hanging out in the outfield,

bored because no balls flew to centerfield in practice,

kicking the dandelions and throwing dirt clumps,

then, I heard a solid CHING!

I looked up to see a perfect fly ball soaring to me

-more like over my head.

I backtracked to keep my eye on it,

the ball plummeting by the second,

it was almost to the ground,

I jumped back, in vain to catch up to it.

Then I felt a THUNK in my glove

And found  the ball resting halfway in the top of my glove.
