              Wrestling

On the matt at a meet,

Hoping to finally win a match,

Nervous on my feet,

The guy 2 times my height,

Knee slides across the matt,

Went for the 2 points,

Arm breaking shot,

Struggling to put him down,

Headset tight on my head,

Trying to focus on the opponent,

Hard to focus on him with huge crowd,

Finally took him down,

Won the match,

finally time to take the singlet off.

       Baseball

     At home plate,

waiting for the perfect pitch,

keeping the eye on the ball,

sun right in my eyes,

having a helmet on,

the ball comes flying right towards home plate,

smack the ball out to the outfield,

run past first base,

run past second base,

run past third base,

am running for home plate,

slide in to home plate,

scored the winning point

          Football

     On the field

waiting for hike

wearing big huge pads

concentrating on the person in front of me

said hike

running straight at the guy

ran right past him

kept going down the field

they threw the ball to me

caught the ball

ran it in for a touchdown

scored the game winning point

     Track/field

     Out on the track

ready to run

starting to sprint as fast as i can

past the finish line

got second place

ready to throw a disk

Start to throw the disk

it flew out into the field

They measured it

got first place

finally everything was done

they added up the points for all the teams

we got first place

Soccer

     Starting with the ball

pass the ball to someone

kicked the ball down deep in the field

passed the ball to someone again

kicked it to someone again

kicked it right toward the goalie

he missed the ball

went right into the goal

scored the winning goal

             Basketball

     Tipped the ball to teammates

caught the ball

dribbled the ball down the court

passed the ball to a teammate

took a shot, but missed

other team took the ball

stole the ball back from them

passed the ball to a teammate

went for the dunk

and scored 2 points

just scored the game winning shot

               Dog

     Running around the yard

taking a huge yawn

laying down on the lawn

digging down into the ground

barking as loud as I can

chasing a cat around the lawn

cat got away from me

laid down on the ground

took a big nap

woke up, got a drink of water

went to my spot where I go to the bathroom

went to the bathroom

had some dinner to eat

went back to bed

          School

     School if fun

school is boring

In homeroom

waiting for the bell to go off

bell went off everybody is quiet

class is starting

class just ended

walking to the next class

sat down bell rang

class is starting

class just ended

walking to my locker

grabbing a book

going to litlab

lit lab is done

Walking back to my locker

going to lunch to eat

done eating lunch

going to next period

school got over

on the bus, going home

Poetry

Poetry does not have to rhyme

sometimes rhyme

but you don’t have to rhyme

repeated words all over

stanzas in almost every sentence

short sentences all over the place

long sentences every now and then

trying to think of a word to put in next

thinking of a title

for the poem I am going to write about

finished the poem

turned in and ready to go

     Video Games

turning on the council

putting the game in

turning on the controller

game finally gets where I can play it

playing the game

invited a friend over to play with me

started to play the game with him

we both died

had to restart all of the levels

paused the game to get back to main menu

shut the council off

done playing the video game for the night

I like how you put down sports poems because it really does show that you like sports a lot and that's good, I also like your dog poem I think it's very creative.

I loved your baseball I can relate, even though it's baseball it's similar to softball. I can relate to getting that feeling. Good job Tanner
