there at our 3 yard line

jogging to the line

a guy lined up in front of me looked like a brick wall

I say to myself

drive,

then I hear the cadence

Drive,

then smack

we hit each other

I see

the Quarter back roll to my side

I yell as loud as I can

PASS

I give it all I got and push my blocker out of the way

the quarterback throws the pass

earlier than he wanted

Picked off my team takes the ball to midfield and goes down

we won the game

Its over

off we go

piling into the bus

some having to sit in the aisle

we get to the meet

schools from all over

right behind us

field events are first

the only good thing in track

then the running

getting to the start line

I run as fast as I can

only for the first 100

which isn’t very fast

getting past

trying to not fall too far behind

finish line only 100 away
